SHANGHAI (April 30, 2019) – International Automotive Components (IAC) Group, a global automotive and mobility leader in lightweight and new-material interior solutions, has appointed Yi “Jeff” Chen as vice president of the organization’s China operations. Based at the company’s Shanghai regional headquarters, Chen will be responsible for leading the region’s operations, launch activities and growth strategy in an effort to expand IAC’s customer base and product portfolio in the Chinese market. Chen replaces Dan Linder, who left the company last year.

“Jeff’s wealth of operational leadership and commercial knowledge will be instrumental in expanding our presence in the region,” said IAC President Nat Rea. “He is a true asset to IAC and we look forward to the impact he will have on our operations, strategy and growth in this important and dynamic market.”

Most recently, he was operations director for IAC China since 2016 after serving as plant manager at the company’s Changshu plant, which he launched from a greenfield site. Under Chen’s leadership, he achieved top quality and production targets that positioned to company to win the Chery-JLR supplier of Year award in 2016. Prior to that, he held a dual role as IAC Chongqing plant manager and program manager for the GM account from 2013, where he improved launch and production processes and efficiencies to win customer satisfaction status in just four months. Chen spent two years outside of IAC as quality director for Magna Exterior & Interior in China. Before that, he was operations manager at Shanghai IAC Automotive Components Co. Ltd. (SIAC) plant from 2007 to 2011. He began his career with General Motors China as senior quality engineer before serving Shanghai Lear as a program manager.
