IAC Asia

In Japan, the IAC Group of Companies is anchored by Mitsuboshi Kaseihin Co., Ltd. (MBK), led by President and CEO Satoshi Mashimo.  First acquired by WL Ross & Co. in 2006, MBK has grown from a three plant operation on Honshu island to a five plant multinational company, with new plants opening in 2008 on Kyushi island in southern Japan and Hubei province in central China.  MBK’s FY2007 annual sales of 19.7 billion yen were driven primarily by instrument panel and floor console business from a diverse mix of Japanese OEM and Tier One automotive supply companies.

The remainder of IAC Asia, with manufacturing and engineering locations in India and China, is led by Jim Kamsickas, president and CEO North America and Asia and is headquartered in Shanghai, China.  IAC Asia has two existing JV manufacturing plants in China, and has aggressive plans for incremental manufacturing and engineering growth in China, India and ASEAN countries.  The proforma 2007 regional sales of $40 million encompassed multiple interior commodities, including Doors, Instrument Panels, Flooring and Acoustics products.  IAC Asia will continue to grow by leveraging world-class products, engineering, and our global manufacturing footprint.  IAC Asia has new facilities under construction in Chakan, India, Beijing, China, and Chongqing, China.  In addition, a Japanese OEM commercial and engineering center was recently established in Yokohama, Japan to ensure a single global IAC point-of-contact and appropriate customer support.
